"Be less curious about people and more curious about ideas."

~ Marie Curie

The Curieosity Student Leadership Conference celebrates women leading careers in science, engineering, technology, and math. A day dedicated to inspiration, women will share ideas, insights and personal stories, to help mentor, build confidence and curieosity in the next generation of young women.

The "Curie" in Curieosity

Marie Curie was born in November 1867 in Warsaw, Poland. Her father was a science teacher, and encouraged his daughter’s curiosity, but sadly he could not afford to send her to college. Marie began working and saved enough of her own money to enrol at the Sorbonne school in Paris.

Marie immersed herself in French and math, and made ends meet cleaning glassware in university labs. Science thrilled Marie, and she earned her degree in physics in 1893 and another in mathematics the following year.
